you can always present your design to sharkrobot.com they have the rights I believe.. so they can sell them, and you can get a piece of the profit.. or atleast I think so seemed like a good idea in my head
just most possibly a dumb question coming your way... but why not make hoodies base on heroes of your own creation that way no legal concerns and i bet with your creative talents they would still be bad ass designs. i know there's a big difference between design and product but it could show marvel and DC that people are in high demand for your work. your watchers want you to succeed
Why have DC and MARVEL not contacted you about making these concepts a reality? I mean I, personally, would love to buy these at comic book stores or at hot topics. Seriously these are gold. Not Superman 3000 though, I read the first issue of JL 3000 and it was terrible, completely ruined the characters for me.
Excuse me, "ruined the characters" may have been a poor choice of words. While these may be new characters but they're not a new concept. The series is a rip off of Marvel's Fantastic Four 2099. Clone heroes from the present in the future and give them faulty memories. It's grotesque and brings in countless continuity errors. What happened to the Legion? Where are the heroes' legacies? Why aren't the Science Police doing anything about illegal cloning experiments? etc.
It's really sad that your concepts have not become a reality as of yet.
As I see it there just aren't enough of these types of products out there to be had. With Comics, Gaming, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi there is this long held mantra or social belief that we’ve all been told at one time or another. ‘You’ll grow out of it."
Well there are multibillion dollar multimedia franchises that not only exist but thrive year after year, which stand in direct contradiction to that erroneous belief. What seems to be lacking in the marketplace are product lines for those who have not "grown out of it" and are hungry for merchandise that has "grown into" us.
I really hope that comic companies like DC and Marvel start thinking more seriously about that and how they approach areas like their clothing lines. In my humble opinion, to not be looking to people like yourself, who have really good ideas in how to execute that type of growth with a cool sense of design and style based on their IPs is a huge gaff on their part.
I've read your journals and am aware of your efforts to pitch WB on the idea and just wanted to say; I guess ultimately in a long winded and soapbox way (although I didn't set out to do that), that I really believe in what you are doing, support your efforts wholeheartedly, and truly admire the work and the talent behind your concepts.
As a fan and long time DA community member. If there is anything I can do to help realize you dream and manifest it into something more tangible. Please feel free to contact me. I'm sure there are many here that feel the same way. Perhaps with a little grass roots effort we can help draw more attention to your work and let WB know not only that there just may be a solid profit center they are overlooking here with you but any entire direction they are failing to see.
